Over the summer, my girls and I had the opportunity to meet Mo Willems at a book signing. We were surprised to find out that he was going to give a presentation before signing everybody’s books. During that presentation, he read Nanette’s Baguette. This was a big treat for us because the book had not even been released yet. The entire room full of children and their parents loved the story, and the experience made the wait for the book even harder!
I had already ordered our copy on Amazon a month before meeting Mr. Willems, and today the book arrived at our house.

My three girls are big fans of Elephant and Piggie books. We’ve been reading them since my oldest was 4, and she’s a third grader now. Over the years, we have amassed quite a collection of Elephant and Piggie books, and we are always excited when a new one comes out.

My girls love Mo Willems books. We own almost everything that he has written, and we especially love the Pigeon character. If you have an older toddler, a preschooler, or a child in the early years of elementary school, chances are that s/he would love the fast-talkin Pigeon.
Today was a very exciting day at our house. I pre-ordered The Pigeon Needs a Bath at the beginning of the year, and today was the day that the book arrived. We have already read it several times, and the girls have declared that it is a hit. Continue reading
